Frequently Asked Questions

What does it mean that actiTIME is web-based? Is actiTIME an ASP solution?

As a web-based solution actiTIME is accessed through a web browser and can be reached from any computer connected to the Internet or to your LAN.

However actiTIME is not an ASP, but a standalone solution. This implies that no financial information is stored outside your organization while you are using actiTIME.

Does actiTIME support projects and customers?

Yes. actiTIME collects time expenses for tasks associated with particular projects and customers. The number of customers, projects, and tasks is not limited.

Does actiTIME allow automatic collection of working time?

No. The current version of actiTIME allows only manual registration of working time. We are considering the implementation of automatic time collection in future versions.

Does actiTIME support HTTPS?

Yes. For information on how to configure actiTIME with support of HTTPS see installation instructions.

How can I integrate actiTIME with my accounting software?

actiTIME directly integrates with Intuit QuickBooks® - a leading accounting software. For integration with other software actiTIME provides built-in reporting and data exporting functions.

How does actiTIME integrate with Intuit QuickBooks®?

actiTIME exports invoice data in qbXML format. Exported data can be imported into QuickBooks® via the Invoice Importer - a freeware actiTIME add-on.

What are the system requirements for actiTIME?

First of all, actiTIME is a multi-platform solution. The server part of actiTIME runs virtually under every computing platform and operating system:

Microsoft SQL Server is not supported.

Can I install actiTIME under Microsoft IIS server?

It is possible to configure Apache Tomcat to work in conjunction with Microsoft IIS server. You can read more about this configuration here: Installation Guide: actiTIME Installation Under IIS.

Can I set actiTIME on a remote server / hosting?

Installation on the hosting provider server is possible, however, this is a rather complicated procedure connected with the following difficulties:

- Your hosting provider server must support appropriate versions of Java, MySQL and Tomcat (see System Requirements);

- The whole installation procedure should be done by an experienced system administrator;

The easiest way to set up actiTIME remotely is to order a dedicated server from your hosting provider.

Does actiTIME support other languages than English?

The current version of actiTIME allows you to enter data in other languages; however actiTIME interfaces are available only in English.

We plan to translate actiTIME interfaces into other languages in the future actiTIME releases.

May I request new features in actiTIME?

Yes, you can submit your requests by filling out the Request a Feature form.

actiTIME is a product of open mind. This means that all of your opinions on this product and your requests are welcome and highly appreciated. Most of the requested features will be included into the next product releases.

What username and password should I use to log in for the first time?

You should use the following default combination of username / password to log in for the first time:

    username: admin
    password: manager

When I try to log in, the page reloads but nothing happens. What is wrong?

This may happen because actiTIME is not included into the list of Internet Explorer "Trusted sites". Try to add actiTIME to the list of "Trusted sites" in the browser security settings (menu "Tools | Internet Options", tab "Security").
