Auto Installation Package

You need local administrator privileges to install actiTIME.

To install actiTIME Auto installation package, run the installer (an .exe file) on your computer and follow the instructions you will be provided with in the installer interface.

After the installation is complete, login with username 'admin' and password 'manager'.

To access actiTIME from outside, please check the following:

  1. The machine where actiTIME is installed should be turned on.
  2. It should have static IP.
  3. The firewall settings on this machine should allow remote access.
  4. The port you have configured during the installation should be open.

actiTIME Manual Startup and Shutdown

actiTIME is basically started automatically. However, if it fails to start due to some reasons, you can start it manually. To do that:

  • Double click on the "Start actiTIME" desktop shortcut, OR
  • Choose "Start actiTIME" menu option (from the "actiTIME" menu group in the Windows Start Menu), OR
  • Start actiTIME service from the services management console

Sometimes, you may need to stop actiTIME – for example, for upgrades or database backups. To do that:

  • Double click on the "Stop actiTIME" desktop shortcut, OR
  • Choose "Stop actiTIME" menu option (from the "actiTIME" menu group in the Windows Start Menu), OR
  • Start actiTIME service from the services management console

If an error occurs during the startup / shutdown procedure, review the event log for additional information on the error.

Configuring actiTIME Notifications

After you have successfully logged in to actiTIME, go to Settings → General Settings and scroll down to the end of the page. You will find the Email Settings section. Specify here your mail server parameters in order to make actiTIME email notifications work.

Please enter correct values in the following mandatory fields:

  • Outgoing mail server (SMTP) - name or address of your mail server.
  • Port - mail server port (usually 25)
  • URL of your actiTIME installation - address you’re using to access actiTIME (ex. http://<IP address or computer name>:8080). This address is required to enable links from email messages back to actiTIME
  • "From" address for email messages – address from which the notifications will be sent
  • Error Processing - email address of your system or network administrator who will be notified if actiTIME detects issues when sending email messages.
