Updated Time Balance & Overtime Report

This update is mostly dedicated to various bug fixes and stability improvements, but there is one standout feature that we would like to touch on. A lot of you have been asking about it and now it’s here – our updated Time Balance & Overtime report now allows you to group data on the report by days, weeks and months.

But that’s not all. For those of you who prefer a bit more detail on their reports, we have also added an option to break down the Reported column into two columns displaying Working Time and Leave Time separately.

Redesigned Task Management

We have big and exciting changes coming to actiTIME this year, but we just couldn’t wait and decided to give you a glimpse at what we’re working on. In this update, you will find our newly redesigned Tasks interface.

We’ve scrapped the old system entirely and replaced it with a leaner, more straightforward and all-around better looking interface. No need to switch back and forth between different tabs and interfaces – now everything you need to manage your customers, projects & tasks is available right there on the same screen.

Use the panel on the left to browse your customers and projects. The folder structure will allow you to easily navigate between the levels. Clicking on the gear icon brings up another panel where you can view and edit the item’s settings.

New Time Balance & Overtime Report

This release rounds up our series of improvements to the overtime functionality in actiTIME with the last and by far the most important step – the all-new Time Balance & Overtime report.

This report replaces our old Overtime report and offers a more straightforward and clear view of users’ overtime information and the difference between their scheduled and reported work hours. The ability to view employees’ time balance will be especially useful for companies that have a flexitime policy in place.

Updated View Time-Track Interface

This update marks the first step towards a more straightforward and robust overtime functionality. With the help of the updated View Time-Track interface you can now view a detailed breakdown of your reported hours for a selected time period, including regular working hours, leave time, and overtime.

Time balances for a selected date range and as of today will show you a clear difference between your scheduled and reported hours. This way, you will always know if you have some banked time or if you owe a couple of working hours to your employer.

Additional Permissions for Task Deletion

A lot of you have asked for this feature and we’re happy to deliver – deleting tasks that contain locked time entries now requires managers to have the Lock Time-Track Permission. At the same time, deleting tasks with time entries of other users will only be possible if those users are assigned to that particular manager.

This allows you to restrict the ability to delete certain tasks to only a few selected managers, effectively eliminating any.

New Permission: Lock Time-Track

You asked us, and we heard you. With this update the Lock Time-Track feature now has its own separate permission, allowing for a deeper and more meaningful user management.

Access to Time-Track from Unassigned Projects

Managers not assigned to relevant projects can now view tasks from those projects on their employees’ time-tracks. This makes the process of reviewing and approving employee hours a lot more transparent and helps avoid any unnecessary confusion. This change applies to all related interfaces:

Disabling this feature in the General Settings menu will hide the details from managers without access to relevant projects, and only show a sum total of all hours reported for projects they’re not assigned to.

Redesigned View Time-Track Interface

With this update we are introducing a new version of our View Time-Track interface. Redesigned from the ground-up, not only does it feature more useful information, but it’s also quite a bit easier to work with.
